Religious Life
Lambuth offers students, faculty, and staff a wide array of opportunities for religious and spiritual development. Your college experience can be the most eventful time of one's life and at Lambuth, religious life is an integral part of the campus community.
Here are just a few of the many spiritual opportunities available at
Lambuth:
Christian Service Organizations
Fellowship of Christian Athletes is the largest and most active organization on campus. Despite its name, FCA is open to all
Lambuth students, not just athletes. It hosts a diverse cross section of eager and involved Christians.
Phi Sigma Eta and Alpha Omega are Christian service organizations that offer students a venue for gathering in Christian spirit. Among their many worthwhile contributions are hours of volunteer service in the community.
Activities and Programs
Religious Life Council (RLC) at Lambuth is an umbrella organization that oversees the majority of religious life activities on campus and serves as a sounding board for ideas and concerns. The RLC plans numerous opportunities for fellowship and worship, including:
- Weekly Chapel Services are held every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the R.E. Womack Chapel. Although services do not have mandatory attendance, classes are not scheduled over this time so as to provide the option of attendance.
- Selah is a contemporary praise service hosted every week at Lambuth.
- Prayer Partners is an exciting opportunity to be in daily prayer for someone and know that someone is in daily prayer for you. By filling out a small interest inventory, your partner knows what areas of your life are in need and can offer their help through the amazing power of prayer.
- Retreats away from campus provide an informal time for fellowship. Open to all students, retreats involve planning for religious activities and programs and include worship, games, and praise.
- Small Group Studies provide the opportunity for students and faculty to meet in a smaller, more familiar setting to explore personal spiritual growth and partake in religious or Biblical study. These small groups are led by students, faculty, or staff and include: Bible Studies, Companions in Christ, and Discipleship/Accountability Groups.
Mission Trips
Recent mission trips to Haiti and Peru enables Lambuth students to tutor and care for children, rebuild houses, and minister to the needs of local citizens.
The newly organized Alternative Spring Break gives students and faculty the chance to partake in a week-long mission trip to a needful are of the state or country.
Educational Offerings
The Pre-Ministerial Group is comprised of individuals who feel God is calling them into some form of ministry and who might be interested in exploring a church-related career. This organization also serves as a fellowship team by traveling to churches in the conference to conduct, or assist in, services.
The Jane Hyde Scott Center For Christian Studies is designed to assist churches in meeting their spiritual and educational needs, the center provides a variety of programs for clergy and laity.
