Federal Pell Grant
The Pell Grant is available to undergraduate students only and does not have to be repaid. The maximum Pell Grant for the 2005-2006 award year (July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006) is $4,050. for those who qualify. Use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for a Pell Grant.
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
Awarded under a federal aid program, the Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant for undergraduates is available to students with exceptional financial need who are eligible for a Pell Grant. Awards range from $100 to $4,000. Early application is necessary to receive consideration for this grant, as the priority date for completing files is February 15.
Tennessee Student Assistance Award (TSAA)
Tennessee residents apply for the TSAA when applying for a Pell Grant. Awards vary and may be as high as $4,644 for full-time students, but are also available for part-time students. The state's established deadline is May 1, but you should apply by February 15 to receive consideration for this grant as all funds can be allocated well before the deadline.
