School of Social Sciences
With small classes and one-on-one attention, students of the School of Social Sciences make the most of this personalized learning environment to engage in debate, discussions, and small group work. Internships are available in all of the majors within the School of Social Sciences.
History
History majors benefit from an emphasis on critical thinking, writing, and dynamic discussions. A Senior Seminar combines work with history and political science issues and themes.
International Studies
The International Studies major gives students a breadth of disciplinary approaches, the opportunity to participate in a model United Nations, and programs for study abroad.
Political Science
Lambuth students majoring in Political Science focus on the four most common areas of political science: U.S. Government and Law, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Political Theory.
Psychology
Psychology students are trained in and out of the classroom to either enter into a graduate school or go directly into the job market. In the classroom, professors teach with a strong emphasis on active learning and application to real world issues. Outside the classroom, students take place in activities that help them develop their career goals, build skills, and add to their resumes.
Sociology
The baccalaureate degree in Sociology prepares students for administrative careers, industrial relations, and urban planning. The Sociology major is also a valuable asset for pre-professional students in theology and law.
Lambuth also offers a Sociology major with a concentration in Criminal Justice which can involve tackling practical problems such as processing a crime scene and participating in law enforcement internships.
